SGBC is a Non-Profit-Organization and a chapter of King Saud University for scientific committees; established in 2009, under the Saudi Society for Agricultural Sciences decree number 6031 dated 28/3/2010 funded by an interest group of professionals and academics in the fields of engineering construction and environmental sciences.
SGBC accredited by the World Green Building Council exclusively in Saudi Arabia. SGBC organized and participated in several national, international, workshops, conferences and activities related to Green Buildings industry.
SGBC's goal is to promote and facilitate awareness of sustainable building practices and knowledge. In addition preserve our urban identity, environment through creativity and innovation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
To transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.
Promoting awareness about the importance of sustainable buildings and encouraging its implementation within the different construction sectors.
Participating in setting vocational and technical training programs pertaining to green buildings within the Kingdom with the main aim of generating competent workforce that are able to adopt and implement Green Building standards within consulting, construction services, contracting and construction material and equipment industry.
Initiating and supporting local and international bodies for organizing exhibitions, conferences, workshops and other activities for promoting sustainability and green building industry within the Kingdom as well as the Gulf Region.
