Marwan is a Principal and a Sector Leader at Stantec responsible for Strategy, Vision and business development for Stantec’s Mena Region. With over 20 years of extensive experience in the field of Architecture that spans a variety of project types, including Higher Education Facilities, K-12 Schools, Healthcare, Instructional and Research Labs, Libraries, Commercial, Religious and Industrial, he is registered and licensed as an Architect in the USA, and maintains a continuous membership with the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Marwan worked on projects in North America, Europe and the Middle East. Recognized for his leadership and management skills, backed with strong design and technical capabilities, Marwan possesses extensive knowledge in the areas of Business Development, Project Management, Master Planning, Facilities Assessment, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration and Closeout Procedures. Marwan is a LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design and Construction specialty. He promotes sustainability and encourages the use of environmentally responsible processes and materials in the design of buildings. He also promotes the use of BIM platforms and Clash Detection software that help produce tender documents with minimal RFI’s and change orders. Marwan has also led multiple teams and projects that employed the Integrated Project Delivery method and were all very successful in meeting the project scope, budget and schedule while exceeding clients’ expectations. Marwan is client focused and is always motivating his teams to add unexpected value to the clients while collaborating and achieving despite obstacles.
Marwan is a principal and sector lead for the Mena Region at Stantec. He’s an energetic, proactive, resourceful, and well-rounded US-licensed and registered architect with over 20 years of experience. His experience spans business development, project management, architectural design, technical project development, construction administration, and closeout procedures. Marwan’s experience includes working on projects in multiple building sectors and sub-sectors such as universities and colleges, K-12 schools, science and technology, healthcare, libraries, commercial, industrial, high-end residential, and civic buildings.
A LEED accredited professional (LEED AP BD+C), Marwan champions sustainability and green processes in building design and construction. Marwan also promotes the implementation of BIM on projects to provide clients with well-coordinated models, saving them time and budget. Some of Marwan’s BIM projects include the Henry Ford College Science Building in the US and Mediclinic Parkview Hospital in Dubai.
Marwan has efficiently led multiple teams for Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) projects that met clients’ budgets and schedules and exceeded owner expectations. One example was Lansing Community College, where projects included the Arts & Science Building, the Student Services, and the Student Dining. Marwan has also been involved with facilities assessment activities for large educational institutions like the University of Michigan-Dearborn and has participated in multiple campus master planning projects like the Henry Ford College Campus Master Plan.
In his current role as a sector lead for the MENA region, Marwan is based in Dubai and leads the business development efforts, while also helping to manage our Mena headquarters office in Dubai. Some of our MENA clients that Marwan leads the business development efforts with include MERAAS, Dubai Properties, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, Dubai South, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, BLOOM, MUSANADA, SABIC, MODON, Mediclinic, and many others.
