Neil van der Veen joined the RMJM family in 2004. Neil’s innovative vision matches that of RMJM and through his role as Principal for the firm he has played a key role in the management and mentoring of a diverse team of designers. Based in Dubai, Neil has built up a remarkable portfolio of projects ranging from the design of residential master plans to large-scale, high-end mixed-use developments. His experience includes designs for developments in numerous cities across the Middle East.
Neil has a varied design portfolio, ranging from the design of residential or cultural masterplans to large scale, high-end mixed-use developments in the hospitality, commercial and residential segments. He has a strong advocate for sustainable urban environments that make use of high density, pedestrian accessable, mixed-use developments.

RMJM Dubai is located in d3, Dubai Design District, which is destined to become the heart of the creative industries in the Middle East region.

The Studio is internationally recognised for the quality of their architecture, their culturally sensitive approach, their flexibility and creativity. RMJM Dubai diverse staff have pioneered a contemporary yet local style of architecture. They take time to understand what our clients want from their project – their aspirations, budget and target audience; they treat every building as a unique opportunity. As a result of this, RMJM Dubai’s designs have won numerous awards and delivered commercial success to scores of clients.

During the company’s long association with the UAE, RMJM has designed many notable and prestigious buildings, including the world renowned Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) precinct buildings, the Dubai International Convention Centre (DICC)The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and the world’s most leaning building, Capital Gate in Abu Dhabi. RMJM was also one of the first international consultants to work with the Engineer’s Office for the ruling family of Dubai.
